Privacy notice
What we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do about it. Written to be read, not to be survived.
Who we are
ZingBuddies is operated from Hyderabad, India. For the purposes of the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, we are the Data Fiduciary for the information described here. You can reach us at privacy@zingbuddies.com.
What we collect right now
At this stage ZingBuddies is a waiting list. If you fill in a form on this site, we collect only:
- Your name
- Your email address or mobile number
- Your PIN code, and the colony or society name if you give one
- The date and time you submitted, and the fact that you consented
We do not collect your full address, ID documents, or payment details at this stage. When address verification opens we will ask separately, explain exactly what is needed, and take your consent again for that specific purpose.
Why we collect it
One purpose only: to tell you when ZingBuddies opens in your area, and to work out which neighbourhoods to verify first. We do not use it for anything else, and we will not start using it for something else without asking you first.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your data. Not now, not later.
- We do not share it with advertisers or data brokers.
- We do not use tracking cookies or advertising pixels on this site.
- We do not send you marketing about anything other than ZingBuddies.
How long we keep it
Until ZingBuddies opens in your area and you either create an account or tell us you are not interested. If we have not launched in your area within two years, we delete your entry and let you know.
Your rights
Under the DPDP Act you can ask us to:
- Tell you what we hold about you
- Correct anything that is wrong or out of date
- Delete it entirely
- Withdraw your consent, which is as easy as giving it
- Nominate someone to exercise these rights if you are unable to
Email privacy@zingbuddies.com and we will action it within 30 days. There is no charge and you do not need to give a reason.
If you are not satisfied with how we handle it, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India.
Security
Submissions are transmitted over HTTPS and stored on servers we control. Access is limited to people who need it to run the waiting list.
Children
ZingBuddies is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
If we change how we use your data, we will update the date at the top and email you if the change is significant. We will not apply a new purpose to data already collected without asking.
